Pink Shirt Day – an anti-bullying initiative – is February 22, so I decided to take my skate story (the one where I wore my sister’s white skates to school and lived to tell the tale. PS: That’s why I never got into hockey), and I turned it into a children’s book, Who Ever Heard of a Boy with White Skates?
I wanted to focus the story on how someone can overcome being bullied and put it all in rhyme like my 2011 children’s book Why Ask Why? and my recent children’s animated short, Does My Dog Have a Soul? (clearly I have a thing for using questions as titles).
I decided to make this book an Amazon e-book because I’m hip that way. Kidding. I’m not hip and hate technology but the e-book gives me full control over the price and profits, which is really good in this case because I will be donating all my profit from the sale of this book to Pink Shirt Day.
The book is available on Amazon Kindle. It’s super cheap, totally awesome and for a good cause. Please buy it, give it a 5-star rating and review and ask your friends to do the same.
Let’s join together and let victims of bullying know that we’ve got their back!
